Who is eligible to enter? The competition is open to any primary or secondary school in Tayside- Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross. 

How to enter: submit your details and video link HERE

What is the cut-off date and time? All videos must be sent by close of business 5PM on Monday, 5th February.

Do entrants need to be above or below a certain age? Entrants must be in primary or secondary school.

How many videos can you submit? 1 video per person/team.

Can videos be submitted any way other than by uploading to the contest? No thank you.

How long should the videos be? The video should be 1 minute long, no longer.

How many people can be in the video? Any amount of people can be included in the video application and pitch.

What happens after they submit the video? DYW, Business Gateway and Elevator will review all video applications and pick 5 finalists. The 5 finalists will be invited to do a 2-minute LIVE pitch at Business Gateway’s Tayside Conference on Wednesday, 21st February in front of the audience and a panel of judges.

How are the 5 Finalists chosen? DYW, Business Gateway and Elevator will judge all video applications based on the 1-minute video. The judges will be judging quality of pitch, overall idea and use of money.

When will the 5 Finalists be announced? The Finalists will be contacted and announced on Wednesday, 7th February.

Are there any specific requirements for the video content? We are all about creativity and innovation! You will be judged on quality of pitch, overall idea and use of money so please make sure your idea is described as clearly as possible in the 1-minute time frame.  

What is the prize? The winner of Make Your Pitch Happen will be given £1000 cash prize sponsored by, DYW Dundee and Angus and DYW Perth and Kinross, to use within their school to prepare young people for the world of work. Evidence will be submitted to DYW to prove that funds are being used for the purpose indicated in the pitch.

Do you also pitch live on the day if you win? The 5 finalists will pitch at Business Gateway’s Tayside Conference in front of the audience and a panel. Please ensure you/your team are booked to attend the conference before applying to Make Your Pitch Happen.
