2010 Tayside Challenge
Enterprise North East Trust staff took on the challenge of making over the MS Therapy Centre in Dundee in just 48 hours in September 2010.
Staff from Enterprise's offices in Dundee donned overalls, picked up paintbrushes to redecorate the two open areas, physiotherapy room, offices and treatment rooms, four toilets and create a sales area in the centre.
Enterprise has chosen to support the MS Therapy Centre as part of its commitment to the local community. The MS Therapy Centre provides advice and support for people with MS and their carers in Tayside in a friendly non-clinical setting. Lorna Ritch, operations manager of Enterprise, who suffers from MS herself, led the Enterprise team in the makeover of the MS Therapy Centre. Several willing volunteers and skilled tradesmen offered to help complete the challenge.
Local business people from across Dundee offered to support the challenge including:
- Clarks Bakery
- M&M Plumbing & Heating Supplies
- Boyle Decorators
- HY Electrical
- Steve Falconer painter and decorator
- Community Repaint Perth
- Jmac Plumbing & Heating

Testimonials
"As a sufferer of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), this project is very personal to me. I attend the MS Therapy Centre twice a week for hyperbaric oxygen treatment and the services and advice provided is extremely valuable, not only to me, but for the many MS sufferers who attend the centre every day. The MS Therapy Centre helps people with to control their symptoms, providing a range of therapies from hyperbaric oxygen, reflexology and acupuncture. Our ethos at Enterprise is working together to change lives and the MS Therapy Centre is certainly doing just that. I nominated the MS Therapy Centre for this challenge and have been overwhelmed with the support from my colleagues, in taking on this challenge. From donating items for use in the centre to providing hard labour, staff have really embraced the project and are willing to get involved wherever possible. We work with businesses large and small and a number of tradesmen have come forward to get involved and give their time to the challenge for free. We hope that those working and attending the centre will be pleased with the end result."Lorna Ritch, operations manager of Enterprise
"As a charity organisation we are dependent on funding to deliver the services we provide. As the majority of this money we receive is used to treat patients, there is often little left over to do any cosmetic or maintenance work on the centre. We are so grateful to Enterprise and the local trades people who have given their time, resources and energy to making the centre a brighter and more welcoming place for our patients. Without the support of Enterprise, the refurbishment would not have been possible."A spokesperson for MS Therapy Centre
