2010 Aberdeen Challenge
Staff from Enterprise "changed rooms" in May as they completed the first Community Challenge to redecorate four rooms at Aberdeen based charity Befriend a Child.
Befriend a Child is a charity that focuses on bringing real support to children who have had less than straightforward lives. The charity headquarters, in Bon Accord Square, Aberdeen; provide an area for young people to meet, relax and escape from challenging situations, it is important that the chill out room provides them with the space to do just that.
Staff also transformed the reception area, bathrooms and board room. The board room was being used as an area for storage and our plan was to re-invent it so it could be used for business and staff meetings.
Our challenge began by sending out a massive DIY SOS to not only the Business Gateway community but to everyone else who could offer time, expertise, materials or donations. We were overwhelmed by all the support from businesses large and small who came forward to get involved and gave their time for free to the challenge.
Thank you to the following people and businesses whom without their support, time and money this Challenge wouldn't have been possible:
