Second keynote speaker announced for forthcoming Grampian Awards

Stuart Heslop, director of commercial banking, Aberdeen for The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has today (DATE) been announced as the second keynote speaker at the forthcoming Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise at Ardoe House Hotel on June 8.  Stuart will join Rachel Elnaugh, founder of gift experiences company Red Letter Days and also a member of the panel on the cult business television show, Dragon’s Den, to deliver key addresses to the enterprising finalists.  The gala award ceremony has become a key event on the Grampian business calendar with tickets selling out every year, since its inception seven years ago.

The Awards are organised by Enterprise North East Trust (Enterprise) and sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland and Business Gateway (in association with Scottish Enterprise Grampian).  All finalists will receive a certificate at the awards ceremony with winners picking up a prestigious Enterprise award and cheque for up to £5000.

Stuart joined RBS in 1987 and has held various roles in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Tayside throughout his career.  In his current position, Stuart is responsible for a team of 35 including relationship managers, deal executives and support managers, focussing on businesses turning over £1 million and above.  A member of the Chartered Institute of Banking, Stuart is married with 3 children and has a keen interest in football and golf.

On his role at this year’s event, Stuart says, “I am looking forward to addressing all of the finalists at the awards. They represent the cream of the entrepreneurs in the north east and have an important role to play in contributing to the ongoing economic development of the region.”

Chris Travis, chief executive of Enterprise says, “The Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise recognises and commends new businesses, growing companies, entrepreneurial businessmen and women as well as innovation.  More than 400 business people will attend this year’s ceremony and we always strive to have keynote speakers who have a varied business career that can share their experiences and pearls of wisdom with the audience.  We are thrilled that RBS continue to support the Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise, sponsoring the awards for the past four years.  RBS has a long standing reputation in supporting new and growing companies to become established, playing an integral role in the further development of business within the Grampian region.”

Tickets are now available for the Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise black tie event on 8 June at Ardoe House Hotel at a cost of £80 per guest (plus VAT) or £800 (plus VAT) for a table of ten.  The event begins with a champagne reception at 7pm, with carriages at 12.30 am.  Tickets for the event can be booked by calling 01467 672535, or emailing events@enetrust.com.  Tickets are expected to be in demand as the event has been a sell out each year since its inception.
