Leadership Excellence Invites Local Businesses to End the Turf Wars

Turf Wars might be a phrase more traditionally associated with soap opera characters, such as the Mitchell brothers and Johnny Allen from Eastenders, rather than a business seminar aimed at senior business men and women in the North East.  However that is exactly what will be under discussion on Wednesday 30th November 2005 at the Territorial Games Seminar which is being hosted by Leadership Excellence.  The seminar is being held between 9am and 1pm at the recently opened Crichiebank Business Centre, Inverurie.

The seminar will be led by Annette Simmons of Group Process Consulting; a recognised expert in this field Annette’s impressive client list not only includes NASA and US Federal Government Agencies but also Microsoft and IBM.  Annette’s groundbreaking research documents the ten territorial games which include camouflage, occupation, shunning and intimidation.

Annette comments, “Territorial games are played covertly in many businesses.  They have a detrimental impact on the overall working and success of the business.  As a result of the in depth research that I have carried out I can provide businesses with the tools they need to uncover the activities which are hijacking their operation; this enables them to stop the game playing and get back to running their business.”

Chris Travis, chief executive of Leadership Excellence says, “Running a business can be a very challenging experience at the best of times, people need to understand how to deal with all aspects of business including VAT, human resources and legal issues; areas where they may have no prior direct experience.  Another field where they might find themselves to be lacking is in knowing what to do to prevent turf wars taking place in the office; the games which stop the real work being carried out.  The Territorial Games seminar will provide participants with practical and realistic suggestions for techniques that they can employ to stop the games and allow them to get on with the real work and so get back to business.”

Leadership Excellence is holding the Territorial Games Seminar on Wednesday 30th November 2005 at the Crichiebank Business Centre Mill Road, Port Elphinstone, Inverurie from 9am – 1pm.  The cost of attending the seminar is £290 plus VAT.  Places can be booked by telephoning Marion Milnes on 01467 672527 or sending an email to marion.milnes@lead-excel.com
