Enterprise Invites Deeside Businesses to Ask the Experts

Enterprise North East Trust (Enterprise) is holding a series of events across the region to allow businesses to gain expert advice on a range of issues. The first event will be an opportunity to ‘Ask The Experts’ and will be held on Thursday 24th March 2005 at the Victoria Hall, Ballater from 6pm onwards. The evening event, supported by Scottish Enterprise Grampian in association with Business Gateway and the Royal Deeside Partnership, will give delegates the opportunity to talk to local experts about some of the key issues affecting local businesses.

Delegates will gain expert advice from local business experts on a range of important topics including, taxation, human resources, accessing finance and legal issues affecting small businesses. Attendees will be split into small groups and will have the opportunity to move around the room and speak to the experts most concerned with the issues affecting their business field, allowing them to maximise their time and gain relevant business advice.

Joyce Duncan, director of operations at Enterprise says, "For business owners, this event is an ideal opportunity to gain expert advice and talk through important issues that may affect them. As our panel of experts are specialists in their chosen field, and can raise awareness of the important issues which may affect local businesses, delegates will be better prepared for any potential situations that may arise. The atmosphere of the event will be comfortable and informal, to allow attendees to take full advantage of the opportunities to network, share ideas and meet with other local business owners."

Experts on hand for the evening include:

Gordon Rennie of Bank of Scotland - Accessing Finance
Josep Campins of the Inland Revenue - Taxation
Bruce Hay of HM Customs and Excise – VAT
Lesley Davidson of Fraser and Mulligan – Legal Advice
Angus Davidson - Chartered Accountant

Also on hand will be representatives from QMS, who will be giving advice on employment law and health and safety.

Lesley Davidson of Fraser and Mulligan, which has resident partners in Ballater, says, "As a long established business, we are well equipped to deal with businesses of varying sizes, working within private and commercial sectors. We provide expert advice on property matters, agricultural problems, arbitrations, court work, wills, trusts and executries. Those attending can ask me questions on a range of issues that we deal with at Fraser and Mulligan, providing them with a better understanding and awareness of the ways we can support them throughout their businesses’ development."

The event is free of charge, due to the support of Scottish Enterprise Grampian, with a light buffet being served during the evening. To book a place for the event, please contact Karen Clark at Enterprise North East Trust (Enterprise) on 01467 672535 or email Karen.clark@enetrust.com.
