Enterprise North East Trust Assures Local Start Up Businesses that Office Space
Date: 17 September 2004
Enterprise North East Trust (Enterprise) has responded to claims that the growth of start-up businesses is being constrained by a shortage of suitable accommodation. An office space and workshop specialist claimed yesterday (Thursday 16th September 2004) that there is a chronic shortage of ‘move on space’ for developing companies that have outgrown their incubator units, but are not ready to take the burden of lengthy and expensive leases on offices or other business spaces.
Enterprise currently manages eight business centres across the north east and is one of the largest providers of serviced accommodation for businesses in the area, with tenants ranging from established businesses to new start up and short term project teams.
Karen Pugh, facilities manager of Enterprise North East Trust says, “Encouraging new business start-up is vital in building a diverse and prosperous economy in Aberdeen and the north east. To help these businesses grow, it is vital that we provide first class business premises together with an extensive range of first class business support services. The eight centres which we own and manage throughout the north east are examples of the contribution that Enterprise is making to help new businesses start up and grow.”
“Our latest suite of serviced office space in the north east – the Riverview Business Centre - is in response to an increasing demand by Aberdeen-based SMEs for affordable, professional office space on a budget. The serviced offices we manage offer affordable high quality business premises to help develop profitable businesses across Aberdeen.”
It was indicated in the announcement made yesterday, that developing firms that outgrow incubators need expansion space on flexible terms with business support, and that the growth of start-up businesses is being constrained by a shortage of this type of accommodation.
Karen explains that Enterprise Business Centres can meet these needs, “All of our eight business centres offer flexible lease terms from one month, making the space ideal for project based teams, new start companies or companies looking for larger office accommodation without tying into a long lease.
Tenants can also take advantage of the conference and meeting room facilities, complete with flip charts, overhead projectors and video or data projector equipment and refreshments. Enterprise is an established provider of a full range of virtual office services to the north east business community. These services are available at all business centres and include mailbox facilities, telephone answering and secretarial support.” Enterprise is one of the largest providers of fully serviced office and workshop accommodation in the north east and currently manages nine business centres across the north east of Scotland. The all inclusive monthly fee includes rent, rates, utilities, telephone answering, secretarial support and access to professional meeting and conference rooms. Meeting and Conference room hire is available in Aberdeen, Inverurie, Westhill, Ellon, Banff, Aboyne and Peterhead from £10 per hour, £35 for half day and £70 for a full day.
