Deputy Minister Officially Opened Enterprise’s Riverview Business Centre

Date: 20 August 2004

Lewis Macdonald MSP, the Deputy Minister for Enterprise and Lifelong Learning officially opened Enterprise North East Trust’s (Enterprise) newest business centre in Aberdeen on Friday 20 August 2004. The Riverview Business Centre, on the city’s North Esplanade West, is Enterprise’s flagship business centre, adding to its portfolio of fully serviced offices and workshops across the north east of Scotland. Mr Macdonald performed the opening ceremony where he unveiled a commemorative plaque.

Riverview Business Centre is Enterprise’s first business centre in Aberdeen city centre and offers companies state of the art office space at a fixed monthly fee.  The entire suite of offices has been refurbished to the highest of standards and now offers new and established businesses 21 fully serviced office suites from 18sq meters to 57sq meters.

Deputy Minister for Enterprise and Lifelong Learning, Lewis Macdonald says, “I was delighted to officially open Riverview Business Centre. Encouraging new businesses start ups is vital in building a diverse and prosperous economy in Aberdeen and the north east. It is also vital that we then help these businesses to grow. Encouraging business start up and growth means providing first class business premises and a range of first class business support services.  The new centre is another excellent example of the contribution that Enterprise North East Trust is making to help new businesses start up and grow.”

Chris Travis, chief executive of Enterprise says, “The addition of the Riverview Business Centre to our portfolio of property is significant.  This is the first serviced office complex which we have opened in the city, and is in response to increasing demand by Aberdeen-based SMEs for affordable, professional office space on a fixed budget.”

Chris continues, “The new serviced offices offer affordable high quality business premises and will help to develop profitable business across Aberdeen and the North East.  Rental prices are fully inclusive – so businesses do not have to worry about paying extra bills for costs such as electricity, security and cleaning.”

The Aberdeen based Enterprise staff have also relocated into the Riverview Business Centre.  Chris says Riverview will bring benefits for the Enterprise team of advisors and their client businesses alike.  “Moving our Aberdeen operation into an office suite at Riverview Business Centre will enable us to have closer contact with the businesses we support.”

Flexible lease terms from one month can be arranged at Riverview, making the office space ideal for project based teams, new start businesses or companies wishing to establish a base in Aberdeen without tying into a long lease.

Tenants can also take advantage of the five meeting rooms which can be booked for meetings of up to six people, and also of the fully equipped training room which can accommodate up to fifty.  Enterprise is an established provider of a full range of virtual office services to the north east business community. These services will be available at the Riverview Business Centre and include mailbox facilities, telephone answering and secretarial support.
