Cornerstone Community Care

Cornerstone Community Care was established in 1980 and provides round-the-clock care, supported accommodation, short breaks, respite and support to adults and children with learning disabilities and other special needs.  The charity has pioneered care in the community helping to transform attitudes towards people with learning disabilities. Cornerstone’s groundbreaking work has helped to establish it as one of the leading charities in the north east, currently supporting over 900 individuals in 148 locations across Scotland.

Cornerstone’s unique approach to supporting people with learning difficulties has achieved outstanding results.  The leading Aberdeen charity aims to enable people who require support to enjoy a valued life, and this is central to all they do.

Over the past eight years the charity has grown on average by over 20% per annum, providing 4.25 million hours of care during 2003-2004.  Its growth has meant that it contributes significantly to the local economy, employing over 650 people across the north east.
