Gordon Merrylees

Gordon Merrylees was born 13th June 1968 and raised in Lanarkshire. He joined the Royal Bank of Scotland Group from school and has worked his way up through the ranks from what was Office Junior to Head of Regional Operations, Scotland.

On his journey to this role he has moved out of Lanarkshire and been based in Carlisle as Regional Manager, then moved up to Glasgow as Senior Regional Manager and then moved into his present role.

He is responsible for Operational and Credit Risk, our Customer Service Proposition throughout Scotland. He also deputises for the Regional Managing Director for Scotland with shared responsibility of approx 4000 Staff and 307 Branches covering Personal, Business and Premium Sectors.

He is a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Scotland (Grad 1995) and is also holds a Chartered Institute Financial Planning Certificate. His main interests are music and sport, in particular football and has recently taken up running again.
