Fitness and Wellbeing Companies Head For The Finishing Line in the Grampian Awards For Business Enterprise
Two Grampian companies that promote health and fitness in the workplace are hoping to cross the finishing line at this year’s 6th annual Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise. The companies, activitymix and fitnut, have each landed a nomination for their business achievements.
fitnut, based in Inverurie, is a finalist in the New Start category which recognises companies which have been trading for less than one year and show the potential to develop into dynamic businesses of the future. The company was launched in January 2005 to provide a number of services to facilitate the legal requirements of organisations to audit the stress and health of their employees.
Penny McIntosh, Director fitnut says, “In today’s business world, poor nutrition and lack of activity can contribute towards stress and are major factors in causing ill-health. Our services aim to help companies reduce the levels of absenteeism in the workplace by promoting healthy lifestyle changes and incorporating fitness into people’s lives. We produce a health ‘fingerprint’ for each company we work with and using this framework can assess the economic cost of organisational health and determine risk areas. The results we have seen in our first five months of trading have been fantastic and this nomination for the Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise is a great recognition of our achievements to date.”
